Our family recently drove to Lexington, KY for a friends birthday at Foam Warz! If you have not heard of Foam Warz, it is a kid friendly (ages 5 and up) indoor nerf arena where players are able to use a variety of nerf style blaster equipment in a large space. No worries of hitting furniture, losing the foam bullets or knocking down glass objects. This is an enclosed area with obstacles where you can strategically have a nerf war.
When you arrive and check in with the friendly staff, you have an option to rent from their selection of equipment or bring your own equipment, as long as it is compatible to the standard nerf foam bullets. Each player is then given a wrist band that is marked with their session ending time, pair of safety goggles and a colored team vest upon entering the rooms.
In each nerf area, there is a moderator who announces the various games that the teams will be playing, such as, capture the flag, zombies, defeat the team and "free-for-all". If a player is "hit", the moderator will ask the player to go back to their base because they are out for the rest of that game. Players can join back in for the start of the next game.

If you are looking to do a birthday party, there is a separate party room where you are able to celebrate your child's special day with specially priced party packages to fit your needs. Cost at Foam Warz is very reasonable at $12 per hour per player on the weekends, however there are special events and rates during the weeknights.
What was our overall experience at Foam Warz you ask? AWESOME! Our kids played for 2 hours straight and came out with a sweat. We brought some of our own equipment as well as rented some of the specialty blasters that we did not have at home and as we were leaving, the kids wished that there was a Foam Warz in Louisville.
There is good news, Foam Warz is looking to expand to Louisville later in 2018, but until then you will need to drive to Lexington to enjoy this indoor nerf arena.
